New wedding venue given go-ahead
Plans to open a wedding venue in farm outbuildings at Woodmansey have been given the go-ahead by East Riding of Yorkshire Council, despite objections from neighbours. More then 20 people had objected to the application by Yasmin Clappison and her fiancé Phil Hagyard for change of use from redundant farm buildings to a function and wedding venue at County Farm, Long Lane, together with catering and bar facilities, toilets, car parking and a new vehicle access. It was said events would cater for up to 100 guests.
Objections included Long Lane being too narrow to cope with increased traffic flows, concerns over noise levels and suggestions the plans would spoil one of the last true country lanes in the area. However, the council also received 28 letters of support. In giving permission, planners imposed conditions on noise levels and opening hours and said checks on potential noise problems would be carried out two months after the venue opened.
