It has been a busy weekend for local sport but like most bank holidays, the sport continues on today. Hull FC, Hull KR and Driffield Town CC are all are due to play. There is also some transfer news from Hull City.

Hull FC are hoping for an instant response from the defeat to Castleford on Thursday. The Black and Whites lost in disappointing fashion, 23-12 at the MKM Stadium. This afternoon Brett Hodgson’s men take on Salford at the AJ Bell Stadium. Tuimavave, Shaul and Brown are all injured and will be a miss for the Airlie Birds. The hosts are on the back of a beating from Catalans and before that suffered a defeat to bottom side Leigh, who prior to that had not won all season.

Hull KR have received a blow to their play-off ambitions with two losses in two games, to Hull FC and most recently Wakefield. A trip to Huddersfield awaits today. Tony Smith will be without Sims and Hadley after both suffered injuries, however, Storton returns. The Giants are on a run of three defeats in a row which has ended any opportunities of them reaching the top 6 this season.

Driffield Town CC will want to bounce back from Saturday’s 89-run defeat at the hands of Scarborough CC. Today they will travel to York CC, a victory with results elsewhere going the right way could see Driffield on the verge of avoiding relegation.

Young defensive duo Jake Leake and Andy Smith have been sent out on loan by Hull City. Leake, 18, has been involved with the first team on a handful of occasions. He will join National League North’s Boston United for a month. Andy Smith has been on the periphery of the first team since his debut last season in the EFL trophy. Smith, 19, has joined Salford City in League Two for the season.
