POLICE are investigating reports that a man indecently exposed himself to a child on Beverley Westwood. Reports say the incident happened around 1pm on Saturday in the woods close to the ice-cream van area of Newbeggin Pitts. The child was unharmed but clearly distressed by the incident.
A spokesman told Beverley FM: This is a single report of an incident; however inquiries have been ongoing following reports earlier in the year of a similar nature. We are appealing for anyone who has information or who saw anyone acting suspiciously to contact us. We’d also ask for anyone who has dashcam footage from vehicles parked on the Westwood (on Newbald Road Walkington Road and Westwood Road) to get in touch.
EAST RIDING Council’s Cabinet has approved Option 2 in the ongoing Saturday Market pedestrianisation trial. It will mean the pedestrian/seating area will be reduced in size although improved seating will be introduced.
Additional bays for blue badge holders will be created and extra space created for vehicles to manoeuvre and minimise the need for reversing.
AMBULANCE staff in Yorkshire are set to join others across England to be balloted on strike action. The ballot opens a week today and closes on November 29 and the union say any potential action could take place before Christmas. GMB National Officer Rachel Harrison said: “Pay has been systematically slashed for more than ten years and we now face the worst cost of living crush in a generation.”
