MIDWEEK ROUND-UP – 7th July 2021

Hull City and Hull Kingston Rovers have both announced new signings this afternoon.

Hull City have signed forward Ryan Longman on a season-long loan. The 20-year-old becomes the latest and fifth signing to Grant McCann’s squad ahead of the Tigers’ return to the Championship. Longman has just signed a new two year deal with Brighton. Previously was being on loan at Wimbledon last season amassing nine goals, with five assists in 52 games. He is a pacey and versatile forward able to play any of the front three positions, which is an attribute McCann often looks for.

Hull Kingston Rovers have pulled off something of a coup, signing Lachlan Coote today. The full-back signs ahead of the 2022 season when his contract with current club St Helens ends. This exciting singing bodes well for the Robins, who have secured several of their high-profile players in the current squad with new deals in recent weeks. Coote signed a two-year deal and has been influential for the Saints in recent seasons, even making his way into the Super League Dream Team.

North Ferriby had their first preseason fixture cut short last night away at Barton Town. The Villagers looked on top until a serious injury to veteran forward Danny Clarke stopped play. Clarke was eventually taken to hospital with a head injury following a collision with a pitchside block wall. Everyone at Beverley FM wishes Danny the best and hope for a speedy recovery.
