Midweek Round-up – 23rd June 2021

Hull Kingston Rovers game against St Helens on Friday evening has been postponed. Three first-team players have tested positive for Covid-19, nine further players have been told to self-isolate as a result. Two players missed out on the victory away at Wigan on Friday after testing positive. The game will hopefully be rearranged in due course, but the further self-isolations may put the Hull derby at the start of July in doubt.
Some good news has come from Craven Park this week. Impressive forward Luis Johnson has signed a two-year extension to his contract. The 22-year-old has made eight first-team appearances so far this season, after joining permanently from Warrington over the winter. Johnson had previously spent time at the club on loan, in 2019.

Jack Logan has rejoined Hull FC this week. The outside-back joins on a four-week loan deal from Championship outfit, Batley Bulldogs. Logan was developed through the Hull academy making 40 appearances in Black and White before being released at the end of the 2019 season. FC had nine first-team players missing in the thrashing of Leigh on Saturday, Conor Wynne had to fill in at centre due to the number of injuries.
Brett Hodgson will be without a further three players for the visit of the Huddersfield Giants on Friday night. Jake Connor, Andre Savelio and Chris Satae have been called up to Tim Sheen’s “Combined Nations All-Stars.” The All-Stars will face England in a fixture raising money for the Mose Masoe Foundation on Friday evening.

Hull City midfielder Jordan Flores has left the club on a season-long loan. Flores joins League Two side, Northampton Town. Since joining in January for free from Dundalk, on an 18-month deal, the former Wigan man has made only four appearances in Black and Amber.
