LOCAL RUGBY LEAGUE: Same again please, Beverley!

The Blue and Golds¬†will hit the road this Saturday, making the relatively short trip into West Yorkshire to face Dewsbury Celtic (kick-off 2.30pm at the INLC). Last weekend’s first game in NLC 3 could not have gone any better for the NCL new boys, with a resounding 30-0 victory against Barrow Island. Scott Taylor’s youthful side played perfectly to instructions and produced a very complete team performance.

That said, Taylor looks set to keep his faith in youth. The squad for the weekend is unlikely to change very much with just Steve Connolly and Lewis Campion likely to be added.

Both open age outfits will be heading to Dewsbury on Saturday with the Academy side taking on Dewsbury Moor ‘A’ (2pm kick off Heckmondwyke Road). The Academy side will be playing their first group game in the Yorkshire Mens League 40/20 cup. The competition has attracted a record entry of 30 sides.

Presuming that the games do not become a victim of the icy weather the bus for both sides and supporters will depart from the Potting Shed at 11.30am Saturday.å
