LOCAL RUGBY LEAGUE: Beverley raring to go!

Beverley ARLFC will  return to action in NCL division 3 tomorrow (Saturday March 17), after a three-week lay-off; making the trip into Cheshire to face Woolston Rovers.

It has been a frustrating time for Scott Taylor’s men following their impressive opening day victory against Barrow Island last month. The icy weather forced the postponement of their trip to Dewsbury Celtic two weeks ago and the resignation from the NCL of  Blackbrook last Friday night left his side kicking their heels last Saturday.

The Blue & Golds squad is unlikely to change very much from three weeks ago; however, Billy Riby has recovered from a hand injury and could be in line for a return, but Bobby Howdle is definitely ruled out due to work commitments.  Kick-off is 2.30pm at the Monks Sports Club.

Phil Horsfield’s Academy side will also be on the road, travelling to South Leeds to play Hunslet Parkside ‘A’ in the 40/20 cup, again kicking off at 2.30pm. The first team bus will depart from the Potting Shed at 11am and the Academy bus at 12 noon.
