LOCAL RUGBY LEAGUE: Awards for Blue & Golds

Beverley ARLFC officials attended the NCL end of season review and awards dinner in Bradford and came away with two awards.

Coach of the year: Scott Taylor

Scott Taylor was awarded the Division 3 coach of the year in recognition of leading the Blue & Golds to the title at their first attempt. Meanwhile, the Division 3 leading try scorer was shared by Beverley’s Lewis Poskitt and Barrow Island’s Blaine Marwood. The two (both half-backs) both amassed 28 tries.

Lewis Poskitt was also a nominee for the Division 3 player of the year but narrowly missed out to Blain Marwood who scooped his second award of the evening.

Significant off the field awards went to Skirlaugh for the best programme. Thornhill were the media club of the year and Normanton’s Katrina Daw was recognised for her outstanding work by being awarded the secretary of the year.
