LOCAL CRICKET: Beverley lose out to in-form York

York & District Senior League leaders York bounced back from last week’s surprise defeat to relegation threatened Pickering with a resounding 102 runs victory over Beverley Town at Norwood Park on Saturday.

Ben Robinson with 62 and an unbeaten 76 from captain Nick Kay helped the visitors to reach 277-7, the total also including contributions from both Ted Patmore (34) and Ben Harris (30).

Pete Shally replied with 40 for the home side who were bowled out for 175, Tom Forsdyke finishing with 4-40. Beverley now sit eight in the table.
