‘Karate Kid’ is a national champion twice over
A 12-year-old from Beverley has been crowned a national karate champion for the second time following the recent English National Championships in Leicester. Kai Carney, who suffers from autism, triumphed in the Disabled Kata event, the second time he has struck gold in this category. Kai is a pupil at Beverley Grammar School and a member of the Hull and East Riding Karate Academy and will now be competing at the British Four Nations Championships next month.
