Joint council push over adoptions
Adoption staff from East Riding of Yorkshire Council are working with neighbouring authorities to encourage more people to consider adopting a child.
The council is one of five in the region who took part in National Adoption Week last week sharing information about children waiting for permanent, loving homes.
Information events are also being held, where people can hear about the kind of children who are waiting to be adopted and talk to adoption social workers to find out more. These include one at the Treasure House in Champney Road, Beverley, on Thursday November 8th, from 5.30 to 7.30pm.
Suzie Grove, adoption service manager for York and North Yorkshire, on behalf of One Adoption North and Humber, told us: “We would love to hear from anyone interested in learning more about adoption. We need all kinds of different families to meet the varied needs of children across our region.” For more information, call 0345 3052576.
