HULL CITY: Tigers sign World Cup winner
As the transfer window slammed shut, Hull City manager Leonid Slutsky added to his defensive options with the signing of promising Chelsea man Fikayo Tomori on a season-long loan.
19-year-old Tomori, who was born in Canada, is predominantly a central defender who, having made his senior debut for Chelsea late in 2015/16, spent the second half of last season on loan with Brighton & Hove Albion, who he helped to win promotion to the Premier League.
He spent the summer with England’s U20 squad, helping them to win the FIFA U20 World Cup, and ha since made the step-up to the England U21 squad for games against the Netherlands and Latvia in the coming days.
At club level, Tomori is now looking forward to gaining further senior experience and joins his Chelsea colleagues Ola Aina and Michael Hector in the Tigers’ squad.
