Beverley History – Crystal Motors
Beverley town centre has been a scene of constant change for many decades. Wednesday Market originally was the centre of Beverley’s fish trade and street market. By the 1960’s it was more well known for new cars than fish!
This picture from that era shows the huge Crystal Motors garage, petrol station and showrooms that was constructed following the demolition of the Primitive Methodist Church in 1958. Crystal Motors survived until 1994 when Boyes department store took over the site.
Whatever happened to Crystal Motors?
