Have your say on parking issues
Residents fed up of drivers using up spaces in a car-clogged area of Beverley are being urged to have their say. People living in the Westwood Way area have been plagued by drivers parking in their streets to avoid charges in the town. Now, East Riding Councillor Denis Healy has written to residents on the former hospital site to see if they want a controlled parking zone.
Cllr Healy says: “Parking is one of the most sensitive issues in town. Residential streets are increasingly being used by visitors to the town looking for somewhere to park, and this often causes frustration for local residents who are unable to park near to their own properties. However, there are two sides to every argument, and although some residents want to see controlled parking restrictions, others don’t support the idea of yellow lines, parking bays, and paid for parking permits,” he said. Residents have until August 31st to contact Cllr Healy with their views on parking issues in the Westwood Way area.
