Golf – non-stop for 16 hours!
A golf-loving NHS boss is to play the sport non-stop for 16 hours on the longest day of the year in a bid to raise £5,000 for her organisation’s charity. Michele Moran, Chief Executive of Humber NHS Foundation Trust, will complete as many par three holes in the HU postcode area as she can to help Health Stars.
Her challenge will involve playing 53 holes on 14 courses, including Beverley, between sunrise and sunset on the summer solstice, 21 June. Ms Moran told Beverley FM: “I’m hoping practice makes perfect and I’ll be able to join the LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) Tour when I’ve finished. It’s a good job I like golf! Joking aside, Health Stars does such a marvellous job for our patients and staff that I jumped at the chance when its staff asked me to help.”
Ms Moran will tee off at 4.24am in Cherry Burton before moving on to Beverley, Hornsea, Withernsea, Burstwick, Ganstead and Sutton Park. She will then play at Springhead, Skidby, Cottingham, Kirk Ella, Hessle and Brough before finishing at Cave Castle at 8.25pm. Anyone who would like to sponsor her can do so via virginmoneygiving.com/
