Glamping: It’s the first straw!
A new concept in sustainable glamping has been unveiled at an award-winning Beverley caravan and camp site. The luxury lodge at the Butt Farm Caravan and Campsite in Victoria Road, Beverley, has been hand-crafted using 66 straw bales harvested from the farm, along with sheep’s wool used for insulation in the roof.
The campsite, run by Oly and Jen White, opened on the family farm just over a year ago and has already won recognition in the annual tourism awards run by Visit Hull and East Yorkshire. New for this year is the luxury straw bale glamping lodge, called the 3 Pigs, which has been built by local carpenter Sam Atkinson.
The lodge sleeps up to four people and contains a fitted kitchen and bathroom with shower and toilet, a double bed and pull-out sofa bed and features hand-made oak detailing throughout.
