Get Involved at Beverley FM
Volunteering at Beverley FM is not just about making or broadcasting programmes, there are many different and vital volunteer roles needed to keep Beverley FM on-air.
Right now we’re looking for additional volunteer team members to help us continue to expand and enhance our operations in East Yorkshire as we move into a new suite of studios in the town centre.
When Beverley FM commenced broadcasting on 107.8FM in January 2015 we had a team of about 40 volunteers. Some of the volunteers presented programmes, others carried out research and set up interviews, and some ran essential office and engineering duties. At that time the station produced locally presented programmes and features from 7:30am to 9pm everyday with non-stop music throughout the overnight hours.
Since then Beverley FM has become one of the most successful community based radio stations in the UK and broadcasts locally presented programmes 21 hours a day with a team of 84 volunteers.
As part of our current expansion plans we need extra volunteers to help with:
* Accounts and bookkeeping
* Promotions at outside events
* Local news and sports coverage
* Office duties including answering the telephones
* Reception duties and regular office work
* Arranging guests to attend on-air interviews
* Housekeeping and maintenance
* and of course making and broadcasting programmes too!
If you are aged 18 or over and can spare a minimum of about three hours a week to help Beverley FM we would love to talk with you. Simply email your contact details and when it would be convenient to call you to:
Please note all Beverley FM volunteers are enhanced DBS checked at no cost to the volunteer.
