From Beverley with love . . . to West Africa and Albania

Old seating being replaced at Beverley’s Hexagon Music Centre in Coltman Avenue has been donated to Beverley charity Jacob’s Well and will be sent to parts of West Africa and Albania where there is a shortage of furniture in schools, hospitals and old people’s homes. A total of 176 chairs have been donated.

The Hexagon Centre is the East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s dedicated, state-of-the-art performance centre and was completed in August 2010 after a major refurbishment project to transform the former Swinemoor Infants School. The main hall, complete with Steinway grand piano, can seat 150; elsewhere in the building there are nine rooms available to hire.
