INDUSTRIAL action by Stagecoach bus drivers in Hull, due to begin today, will affect some Beverley services. East Riding Council’s transport team has been working to secure replacement services and say all school transport will run as normal, with regular Stagecoach services run by alternative companies. However, some public services won’t be running.
A spokesperson told Beverley FM that Service 180, Beverley to Castle Hill Hospital, will be operated by Acklams Coaches but run to the same timetable.

BEVERLEY Town Council, Beverley Civic Society and East Riding Council have joined forces to refurbish the town’s historic cast iron lampposts, believed to be the oldest and largest group of such lamps in the UK. The 39 Grade II-listed lamps, some dating back to 1824, were once powered by gas and are regarded as an important part of Beverley’s heritage.
The uniqueness of the Beverley lamps is not only their age, but also their inscriptions. Throughout their research, the Civic Society could find no other such collection which bore such detailed information in their castings
BEVERLEY Building Society has strengthened its Board with four new Non-Executive Directors to help support its ambitious future plans, centred largely around mortgage lending growth. Society chief executive Janet Bedford told us: “The society is entering an exciting period with promising growth in our mortgage lending, significant investment in new infrastructure and talent and a renewed and growing community presence.
