They can hold events and festivals, organise a Covid recovery community activity, or extend access to services to encourage residents back onto high streets.   Grants will be available until March 2023. Visitors to the coast and the Humber Estuary this weekend are being asked to consider Yorkshire’s spectacular wildlife. There will be visible patrols, as part of Operation Seabird, which sees the Police, environmental agencies and the council work together to crack down on anti-social behaviour. They’ll also advise visitors on protecting marine wildlife. Operation Seabird is also being launched at the Humber Estuary, It follows reports of disturbances which could affect the breeding success and overall health of legally protected species.

The transport charity Beverley Community Lift has been given a financial boost. BCL, which takes people to medical and social appointments and on day trips, has been given a £5,000 grant from the Worshipful Company of Grocers to cover volunteer expenses.
