Former Labour leader Jeremy Corbyn is taking legal action over social media postings depicting him at the scene of the recent Liverpool terror attack. A doctored image of Mr Corbyn holding a wreath near a burning taxi was posted from Beverley councillor Paul Nickerson’s twitter and Facebook accounts.

Cllr Nickerson, who represents Minster and Woodmansey Ward on East Riding Council, later deleted the posts and apologised, but denied he was responsible. Mr Corbyn said: “My solicitor has been notified and we are taking legal action.” Beverley FM previously reported that Cllr Nickerson had been suspended by the council’s Conservative group and has faced calls to stand down.

And finally, Beverley Minster has announced a series of four “Carols by Candlelight” concerts in December. They will take place at 6.30 and 8pm on Friday December 10 and 5pm and 6.30pm on Saturday the 11th.
