A LATE-NIGHT attack on two men walking along Grovehill Road in Beverley led to one of the men being threatened with a smashed bottle, thrown to the ground and having his wallet and phone taken. Police appealing for help in tracing the attackers said the robbery took place around 12 midnight on Monday February 27.
A police spokesperson told Beverley FM: “Two men were walking along Grovehill Road around12 am and as they headed towards a cut-through which leads on to Holderness Crescent, they were approached from behind by two unknown men. As they tried to flee to safety, one of the men is reported to have been threatened with a smashed bottle, thrown to the ground and had his wallet and phone taken.”
The statement continued: “A number of lines of inquiry have been conducted so far and we are now keen to locate the two unknown men. If you have any information that would help with our investigations, including CCTV or dashcam footage, please contact us on our non-emergency number 101.”
TRAIN OPERATORS Northern has advised customers to “check before you travel” on two dates next week as the RMT Union stages its latest strike action. Despite suspending action by its members working for Network Rail, the RMT strike for members working for train operators, including Northern, remains in place for next Thursday and Saturday (March 16 and 18).
