Food bank ‘desperate’ for help
Beverley Food Bank is once again in desperate need for supplies following high demand for its services. Tins of soup, tomatoes, rice pudding, fruit and fish are all in short supply as well as jars of pasta sauce and long-life milk. Founded by local churches and community groups, the food bank opened in 2016 and in its first year gave out three-day emergency food supplies to 3,734 families or individuals.
Based at 87 Mill Lane in Beverley, the food bank is open on Monday and Friday afternoons, between 12 noon and 4pm. Donations of food can be taken there during those times and also to Tesco’s in Beverley or the Minster Parish Centre. More information from www.eastyorkshire.foodbank.org.uk or by calling 07842 753728
