Firearms surrendered to police
A recent Humberside Police operation aimed at reducing the number of weapons on our streets, resulted in 25 firearms being surrendered to police stations across the area. Along with these was a large quantity of ammunition and gun parts.
Beverley was one of the police stations taking part in Operation Aztec and Chief Inspector James Glansfield told us: “One weapon off the streets is one less that can be used to harm or threaten our communities.”
The weapons surrendered, which included two shotguns, two pistols and 14 air rifles, will now be examined and may be sent for forensic examination if it is thought that they may have been used in a criminal capacity.
