EXCLUSIVE: Olympic medallist to run in Beverley
It’s been confirmed that an Olympic gold medallist will run in next month’s Beverley 10K road race, organised by Beverley Athletic Club. Phelan Hill, who has been cox of the Great Britain men’s rowing eight, guiding them to three successive world championships and gold at the 2016 Rio games, will be joining 1,800 other runners for the race on May 13th.
It starts in Eastgate, outside Beverley Minster at 11:15am and then passes through the North Bar and across the Westwood towards Walkington. Runners then return through Beverley’s Saturday Market Place and pedestrianised streets to the finish at Wednesday Market. Beverley AC press officer Bruce Woodford described Hill’s participation as “exciting news” and Bruce will be a guest on Beverley FM’s 3 O’Clock Kick-off on Saturday April 28th to preview the event.
