Festival of Christmas – December 2023
The Festival of Christmas is returning to Beverley for five days of festive activities. More than 120 stalls selling Christmas gifts and treats, fairground rides, music and plenty of food and drink will feature in the Festival on Sunday 10 December from 10am to 4pm.
In its 27th year, the festival is sponsored by The Beverley Arms. It will cover Saturday Market, North Bar Within, Wednesday Market, and link to Flemingate Shopping Centre.
Before this the Made in East Yorkshire Christmas Market, 6-8 December, also sponsored by The Beverley Arms, will showcase some of the finest produce from local businesses. There will also be a special Christmas-themed Saturday Market on 9 December, continuing the weekly markets that are a feature of Beverley life throughout the year.
Alongside the Festival of Christmas on 10 December, shoppers can take a break from the crowds and pop into Beverley Guildhall between 10am and 3pm to enjoy a new Memory Museum video, take part in a Paperchain Challenge or just enjoy a hot drink. Toll Gavel United Church will have Christmas tunes, local choirs and refreshments on offer from 11am to 3pm. East Riding Theatre will be holding an Arts & Vintage Fair from 11am to 3pm, along with mulled wine and mince pies.
Also underway right now is the Reindeer Rampage (until 31 December) – a trail for children around Beverley town centre, helping “round up the herd” for Father Christmas. There’s a free trail map to fill in and a free reindeer mask at the Tourist information Centre on Cross Street.
And don’t forget the Beverley Minster Christmas Tree Festival 1-10 December. More details on this and other festive events in this Events Guide.
