Demelza breaks into song!
Beverley actress Eleanor Tomlinson, who starts as Demelza Poldark in the BBC’s BAFTA-award winning drama series Poldark, is branching out as a singer, releasing her first album early in May. Tales From Home – described as a collection of folk-influenced covers – is released by Sony on May 4th and sees the actress take on a series of classic hits, including Carole King’s Tapestry, Simon and Garfunkel’s Homeward Bound and Bonnie Rait’s I Can’t Make You Love Me.
The album also features The Spinning Wheel, a cover of a Scottish folk song that Tomlinson recorded with her brother and fellow actor, Ross Tomlinson.
Eleanor said: “I’m incredibly excited. I would like to thank the Poldark fans who inspired me to make this album. Without their support, this would not have been possible.”
