Crackdown on uninsured drivers
Starting this week (November 12) Safer Roads Humber is funding an enforcement operation targeted at getting uninsured vehicles off the road.
Vehicle registrations are checked by the police against the national database and any vehicle that doesn’t appear on the list will be stopped and the driver questioned.
Anyone driving without valid insurance could face six penalty points on their licence, a fine of £300 and if the vehicle is seized a release fee has to be paid. If the case goes to court, a driver could get an unlimited fine and could be disqualified from driving.
