Councillor’s plea on phone mast
Beverley councillor Denis Healy is asking East Riding of Yorkshire Council to give more time for people to comment on proposals for a 20-metre high mobile phone mast within the car park of the Beverley Arms Hotel. It would replace an existing temporary mast erected while the current building works are taking place and replaces a previous mast housed on the hotel roof.
Details of the plan are currently being advertised on the council’s planning website, with final dates for public comment given as January 9th. No objections have been raised by the council’s conservation officer but Councillor Healy says he understands some nearby residents have expressed disquiet.
He says, given the consultation period covered Christmas and New Year, a longer period should be given for comments to be lodged.
