Council teams set gold standard
East Riding of Yorkshire Council’s licensing team and dog wardens have scooped two top accolades from the RSPCA for their work in services around animal welfare. The gold award to the licensing team recognises their high standards around the regulation of zoos, pet shops, riding schools, kennels and dog breeders in the East Riding.
A similar gold award to the dog wardens recognises their work with the handling and care of stray dogs as well as the work they do to promote and support neutering and micro-chipping.
Stray dogs in the East Riding are taken to kennels at Leconfield and the award the council has received also recognises the care given to the animals while they are held there.
