College band in the groove
A band formed by students from East Riding College will be the opening act for next month’s Tidal Waves Festival in Bridlington, which takes place on South Cliff Beach on Friday the 9th and Saturday the 10th of June. The Underground Owls will take to the stage alongside big names such as Seafret, The Pigeon Detectives, The Hoosiers, Reverend and the Makers and Toploader.
The Underground Owls wrote their first single called City of Culture as a tribute to Hull and the student band went on to win a song-writing competition organised by East Riding College and performed the song for the first time at the College’s annual awards evening in March. It has now been released through the College’s in-house record label Academy Records and is available on all major music sites, including iTunes and Spotify. Tickets for the festival are on sale now via www.tidalwavesfestival.com
