Choir’s 60th anniversary production of Messiah
Currently celebrating its 60th anniversary, the East Riding County Choir will present its biennial performance of Handel’s Messiah and Hallelujah Chorus in Beverley Minster on Saturday December 2nd. Written in 1742, it has become one of the nation’s favourite choral works – especially so at Christmas, and the county choir’s performances in the Minster are always enthusiastically received.
The Choir still draws its 100 or so members from all over the East Riding, and, apart from two major concerts in Beverley Minster, occasionally gives smaller concerts in rural churches. Tickets for The Messiah cost £17.50 for reserved seats and £10 unreserved. They are available from the Beverley Tourist Information Centre, from www.eastridingcountychoir.org, or on the door. The concert starts at 7pm.
