Beverley’s two new restaurants

The Flemingate Centre’s newest eaterie, Bucca di Pizza, opened on Friday night (August 25th) and is already proving popular. It’s the fifth restaurant to be opened by brothers Geoff and Nick Thornton since they began their operations in Leeds in 2015. Loosely translated as “the pizza pit”, Bucca di Pizza will be expanding further with another restaurant in the Fruit Market area of Hull.

The Beverley operation regularly challenges customers on social media to come up with new ideas for pizzas, some of which find their way on to the menu. Geoff said: “We’re part of a new breed of pizzeria, offering more unusual and interesting choices.”

And yet another new restaurant for Beverley opened its doors to the public for the first time on Saturday, after an evening for VIP guests on Friday which raised money for the Teenage Cancer Trust charity. Taseem’s Indian Restaurant occupies the Wylies Road premises previously housing the Singing Bamboo Chinese Restaurant, which closed earlier this year.

It marks a return to Indian cuisine for the premises which, for many years, housed the popular Khan’s Restaurant.
