BEVERLEY TOWN: Floodlight Update

Cranswick PLC make a major contribution to Beverley Town Football Club Floodlight Fund.

Beverley Town Football Club’s dream of gaining promotion to the Northern Counties East League took a huge step forward this week thanks to significant investment from local company Cranswick PLC.

The club have been raising funds to enable them to apply for a grant from The Football Foundation, which in turn will allow them to install floodlights and make improvements at their Norwood ground.  The target of raising £30,000 had looked like a very distant dream for the club, however, officials have been working tirelessly behind the scenes to make the dream come reality. With the help of Cranswick PLC this target has now been reached!

As a result of ongoing discussions, the club are absolutely delighted that Cranswick have committed to making a major contribution towards the project, subject to overall funding being given by The Football Foundation.  Club development officer Richard Jagger stated

This is an absolutely amazing gesture by Cranswick PLC.  At one point it was in doubt whether we could raise the funds required to be able to apply for The Football Foundation grant. With this contribution from Cranswick PLC I am delighted to announce that we have now reached our fundraising target of £30,000.

I would like to say a huge thanks to Martin Davey at Cranswick PLC for his support in making this happen”

Martin Davey of Cranswick PLC added

“Cranswick is delighted to have the opportunity to assist Beverley Town Football Club in its ambitions to progress and believe that the ground development will be a boost for sport locally. We wish Richard and his colleagues every success in the application to The Football Foundation”

Beverley Town continues to work hard both on and off the pitch, with the goal of promotion to the NCEL top of their list.  The improved facilities will encourage the Town’s youngsters to get involved with sport and provides a clear pathway from under 7`s up to first-team football.

The club would also like to thank The Swift Group along with all those that made contributions to our Go Fund Me page, including a number of junior teams at the club and other local businesses.
