Beverley to get urgent care centre

An urgent care centre will open at Beverley hospital by the end of March next year, one of three such centres in the East Riding designated to deal with minor injuries. This follows confirmation from the East Riding of Yorkshire Clinical Commissioning Group of their plans to close six existing minor injuries units, including the one in Hornsea.

Beverley and Holderness MP Graham Stuart was among those campaigning against the changes, with thousands signing petitions in the areas affected by the closures. The three new care centres will be at Beverley, Bridlington and Goole and will operate from 7am to 11pm every day. Overall, the CCG say the new-look system will see an increase in the number of hours urgent care services are available in the East Riding, particularly at night and over weekends.
