Beverley Prezzo ‘to close’

It’s being reported this morning (February 5th) that Beverley’s Prezzo restaurant is earmarked for closure by the company – one of 94 restaurants that will close across the UK, resulting in around 1,000 jobs being lost, although Prezzo says it will try and find staff new roles elsewhere in the business.

The move is part of deal restructuring specialist Alix Partners is putting together, with a company voluntary arrangement (CVA) for Prezzo allowing it to renegotiate the restaurant chain’s debts.

The Saturday Market, Beverley, restaurant is one of five in Yorkshire earmarked for closure, the others being in Catterick, Ripon and two in Sheffield.

Top performing sites, including the one at St Stephen’s shopping centre in Hull will continue. Others in Yorkshire said to be safe are two in York, two in Leeds and one in Harrogate.

No dates for the closures have been given although it’s said the restructure will see Prezzo’s subsidiary Tex-Mex brand Chimchanga close entirely.
