Beverley Memory Walks for Alzheimers Society
Memory walks are organised annually by the Alzheimers Society to raise money for research into Alzheimers and dementia and their target this year is £9 million. Two walks are being organised in Beverley this Sunday, October 15th, one covering two kilometres and the other five kilometres. Both will be circular walks, starting and finishing at Beverley Leisure Centre, and everyone is welcome, although children must be accompanied by an adult.
Organiser Chris Smithurst told Beverley FM: “It’s a walk, not a race so everyone can go at their own pace, enjoy the sights of Beverley, make new friends and raise money for a very worthwhile cause. And if anyone wants to do the walkout doesn’t want to get sponsored, they can make a donation to the charity.”
Chris said volunteers would also be needed to assist at the leisure centre and along the route. For further information contact Chris and firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07948 677390.
+ Chris will be interviewed on Roy Woodcock’s afternoon show this Thursday (October 12) around 2.20pm.
