Beverley fund-raiser for Yorkshire Air Ambulance
An auction is being held in Beverley tomorrow (Saturday 14th October) in aid of the Yorkshire Air Ambulance. It’s taking place at The Monk Walk pub at 4pm. Organiser Caroline Hood said there were approximately 43 items to auction.
“Beverley and other local companies have been very generous, with items from Petals, De lacy, White Rabbit, Sessions, Hull FC, Thomas and Berriman, Guest and Phillips, East Riding Engraving and many more,” she said. “There are also vouchers and race days from The Moors Inn at Appleton, a three-day pass for Superbike and a day at Caterham with hospitality.”
Yorkshire Air Ambulance was set up in 2000 and with the addition of the second Air Ambulance in October 2007, we were the first Air Ambulance in the UK to own and operate a Dedicated Air Desk in the UK. With the addition of the Air Ways Communication Systems, the Yorkshire Air Ambulance has developed into a sophisticated emergency service that provides state-of-the-art emergency medical care throughout Yorkshire.
As a charity Yorkshire Air Ambulance has to raise £12,000 per day to keep both its air ambulances in the air – equivalent to £4.4 million per year.
