Beverley charity launches lottery
A Beverley charity which provides community transport facilities for the elderly and disabled has launched a weekly lottery to help pay for its services. Beverley Community Lift, which recently opened a fund-raising shop, called The Bus Stop, in Sow Hill sees combating loneliness as another of its aims and has a number of mini-buses used to take people to the supermarket and on social outings.
The lottery venture has been launched with the help of Your Charity Lottery at Dove House Hospice in Hull. Entry costs £1 a week and provides 82 cash prizes of up to £10,000. Laura Sadler, of Your Charity Lottery, said: “The difference that Beverley Community Lift make to the everyday lives of so many people is incredible and I’m excited for them to become part of the lottery family”.
