Beating stress – literally!

Beverley Drum Circle, set up as a unique way of coping with and beating stress, is organising sessions for children aged between six and 11 during the school summer holidays.

Organised by drum teacher Gareth Winstone, who was an on-stage drummer for five years with the hit stage show Riverdance, told Beverley FM: “We hope this will introduce them to the wonderful world of rhythm, and a fun way of playing together as a group.”

He continued: “Drumming is now well documented to have a positive effect on overall general well-being and several studies have been carried out which provide scientific evidence to support this. But before looking at the science, we know drumming is fun!”

The sessions will be held in St Mary’s Parish Hall in Beverley on three Wednesdays in August – the 1st, 15th and 22nd. Places are limited to 20 per session and tickets cost £5. More in formation by calling 07731614349 or visiting
