About Beverley FM
A new not-for-profit community radio station specifically designed to serve Beverley and the surrounding villages went on-air on January 20th 2015. Beverley FM provides an exciting mix of music, entertainment, news, and sport, all with a distinctly local Beverley feel, 24 hours a day from studios in the town.
Beverley FM was been set up by a group of local businessmen and radio professionals led by Dave Fewster the well-known Beverley based radio presenter and founder of the very successful local company Chem-dry in the 1980’s.
“We are very excited about this project. For a long time the town has needed a radio station that is locally based and puts the interests of the Beverley community before those of Hull” Dave told Beverley FM. “I have felt for many years that a radio station broadcasting from Beverley would not only be very popular in the local area, but should become a vehicle for young people to gain broadcasting experience and employment in the industry,” he added.
Beverley FM is one of the new not-for-profit community radio stations of which there are over 200 in the UK licensed by Ofcom. Beverley FM broadcasts on 107.8FM and streams on the Internet from a dedicated website at www.beverleyfm.com.
